Everything you need to know about TrekMeet and where we’re headed.

The Basics

TrekMeet is the complete outdoor platform — group events, solo plans, 100 offline trails, direct messages and group chat, your Journey history, and safety tools, together in one quiet, intentional app. It’s built offline-first for hikers, trail runners, campers, cyclists, and anyone who finds peace in the outdoors.
Yes. Creating an account, joining groups, RSVPing to events, planning solo treks, chatting, and using the offline maps are all free, with no ads, ever. After the public launch we’ll introduce paid plans, TrekMeet Explorer and TrekMeet Trail Leader, that add advanced tools for solo explorers and group organisers. Finding and hosting outdoor experiences stays free.

During the beta: every member also has the features planned for the paid Explorer tier at no cost, with nothing to set up and nothing to pay. See how to join →
On iPhone, you can join right now through TestFlight — the Beta page has the one-tap link. On Android, join via the Join The Community form on our Homepage; you’ll get a welcome email, then we add you to the Google Play test track. Either way, every member has the features planned for the paid TrekMeet Explorer tier at no cost while the beta runs.
Not at all. TrekMeet supports 18 outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, trail running, mountain biking, road cycling, kayaking, rock climbing, camping, skiing, bird watching, fishing, and more. If it happens outdoors and clears your mind, it belongs on TrekMeet.
Absolutely. Solo Mode lets you plan personal treks, upload GPX routes, set dates, and share your plan with friends — no group required. You can also create a private circle for just you and your mates, keeping things intimate without the noise of public social platforms.

Features & Safety

Yes — offline is how TrekMeet is built. The beta ships with 100 curated Australian trails, including 35 founder-walked NSW trails rendered as full vector maps that work without internet. Your events, groups, and plans are stored on your device, so they’re there with or without signal. When you’re back in range, everything syncs.
TrekMeet gives you safety tools, not a safety service. A press-and-hold SOS module dials 000 or your emergency contact and shares your location. Live Trek lets your group follow your position in real time. Your emergency contact stays on your phone. TrekMeet does not watch your walk and cannot send help. In an emergency, call 000.

The App & Timeline

TrekMeet is live on Google Play as a Closed Beta in Australia (Round 2 rolling out now), and on iPhone via TestFlight — Apple’s beta distribution, open to join with one tap. The public Australia-wide launch on both platforms is targeted for later in 2026, with international expansion to follow.
TrekMeet runs on Android (version 5.0 and up — most devices from 2015 onwards) and iOS (live via TestFlight). It’s designed to feel fast and smooth on both.

For Organisers & Leaders

Because we handle the logistics so you can focus on the trail. TrekMeet gives organisers:
  • Free group creation with no subscription fees — ever.
  • Trail maps inside the event — no more copy-pasting links from separate apps.
  • In-app group chat for coordination without needing a separate messaging app.
Once you’re on the trail, TrekMeet keeps your group connected:
  • Live leader location — share your real-time GPS so the group can follow you on the map. No one falls behind.
  • Built-in SOS and emergency contact management at the event level.
  • Coming soon: An AI Planner that helps you scout routes, estimate difficulty, and create events in seconds.
Coming soon. A frictionless migration tool — Welcome Home — is on our roadmap for the public launch. It will let existing organisers pull in their member lists and event history without the friction of starting from zero. If you run a Sydney hiking group and want to be among the first to test it, drop us a line — we’re picking pilot organisers now.

Behind the Scenes

TrekMeet is an independent, community-driven project led by Manish, a Sydney-based product leader and the founder of OZ Outdoors — a 3,000+ member hiking community. After personally leading over 450 hikes, he built TrekMeet to solve the logistical headaches he faced every weekend on the trail.

Fun Fact: TrekMeet went from the first line of code in October 2025 to live on both platforms in eight months. It was built entirely by a solo founder — a product manager by trade — working with an AI agent team. No engineering hires. No outside funding. Every feature shipped through a disciplined, structured process. The app is the product. The way it was built is the proof.
